Memories and Letters between Charlotte of Belgium and the Queen of England
On Monday 16th December the second Focus on will open to the public, a new exhibition project of the Historical Museum of Miramare for the promotion and enhancement of its museum collection; an in-depth thematic study focused on one or more works of art of the Museum, which allows us to take a new look at the collection and narrate its history starting from the objects, reconstructing productive contexts, meanings and conservation events.
The first Focus on was inaugurated last September 12 and dedicated to a tempera on paper of the Baseggio atelier “The port of Istifan in an 18th century nautical map”.
The next appointment will open on December 16th at 6.30 pm and will be titled “My dear cousin Victoria …” A porcelain bust of Queen Victoria of England will give the opportunity to deepen the family ties of Archduchess Charlotte with the English royal family , on the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of the British sovereign and her consort.
The exhibition, set up in the Apartments of the Duca d’Aosta, on the first floor of the Castle of Miramare, will be included in the regular admission ticket to the Museum and will remain open until 1 March 2020.
