The European Heritage Days (EHD) are back on 27 and 28 September.

The theme of the 2025 European Heritage Days, “Architecture: the art of building”, is an invitation to explore the rich and varied architectural landscape that surrounds us.

‘The Art of Building’ invites us to rediscover the variety of styles, materials and knowledge that have shaped the European built environment from prehistory to the present day. It highlights the intangible heritage linked to traditional knowledge and techniques, promoting their preservation. At the same time, it looks to the present: to innovative solutions and new technologies tested to respond to contemporary demands, such as those related to sustainability and physical, sensory and cognitive accessibility.

Initiatives at Miramare

Saturday 27 September – Architecture of taste: the art of cooking at the court of Maximilian + special evening opening at a symbolic cost of €1.

The Historical Museum and Park of Miramare Castle opens its doors to visitors from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (last admission at 9.30 p.m.) and offers an exceptional guided tour of the historic kitchens, giving the public a unique opportunity to discover the spaces and atmospheres that animated daily life at the court of Maximilian of Habsburg.

There are two guided tours:

7:00 p.m. (duration 30 minutes)
7:45 p.m. (duration 30 minutes)
Access to the kitchens is included in the special ticket at a symbolic cost of €1, valid with the purchase of an admission ticket to the Museum.
